The Bully Pulpit Series is a non-partisan series, which invites presidential candidates to speak with campus and community members on topics related to presidential communication as well as issues important to the community.
A joint effort of the College’s Department of Communication and the Department of Communication Advisory Council, The Bully Pulpit Series has hosted Senator John McCain, Congressman Ron Paul, President Barack Obama, Senator John Edwards, Governor Buddy Roemer, Governor Jon Huntsman, and Speaker Newt Gingrich. Since 2007, The Bully Pulpit Series has proven to be an important southern stop along the campaign trail.
This event series takes place in the 12 months prior to the South Carolina presidential primaries, the first primaries to be held in the South.
