WebCT Basics

August 19th, ECTR 214, 9:00-12:00: WebCT Basics will cover how to activate a class, add a syllabus, add content and urls and manage your class.

October 4th, TBA, 12:15-1:30 or

October 5th, ECTR 214, 2:00-4:00: WebCT Basics – this class will cover how to activate your WebCT class, add a syllabus, use email, threaded discussions and the chat, and add content to your course.

October 11th, TBA, 12:15-1:30 or

October 12th, ECTR 214, 2:00-4:00: WebCT Quizzing – creating online surveys, quizzes and tests using WebCT.

November 2nd, TBA, 2:00-4:00: Mac Video Editing – Do you lose time in class rewinding or fast forwarding videos to a specific clip? Do you shuffle several VHS tapes in one class? Well the video editing class will show you how to capture all those VHS tapes to small clips or DVDs that you can organize and easily use in your class. It also may give you ideas of how your students can use video in your class. This is a Mac Only class.

November 8th, TBA, 12:15-1:30 or

November 9th, ECTR 214, 2:00-4:00: Using Google Docs and Spreadsheets for Collaboration in the classroom – Google has many new tools available and Docs and Spreadsheets is probably the best thing out there. These tools allow students to collaboratly work on documents. You can also see the history of which student made what contribution.

December 6th, TBA, 12:15-1:30 or
December 7th, ECTR 214, 2:00-4:00: YouTube and Other Online Video Resources – learn to find videos that will enhance concepts in your class. Also learn to download these videos to your computer so they don’t “disappear” when you need them most.
