I am a teacher and researcher who specializes in developing intelligent assistants that collaborate
with humans to perform creative visual tasks in virtual computer graphics environments. My research work finds practical application in animation, cinematography, games, previsualization, visual simulations, and education.
My teaching and research complement one another to engage students in creative projects in computer
graphics, artificial intelligence, and interactive multimedia systems.
I enjoy traveling the world to interact with research colleagues and creative artists in film and
interactive entertainment. Current and past collaborators include UC Santa Cruz Games and
Playable Media group, INRIA-Rennes (France), University of Udine (Italy), and the IntelliMedia
Initiative at my alma mater of North Carolina State University.
