Elementary Engineers Summer Program

Elementary Engineers is a summer program that provides engineering learning opportunities for at-risk first through fifth grade students in the Charleston area. It is held at the College of Charleston. The curriculum is administered by trained teachers who provide instruction in engineering topics asking the student to think like an engineer and go through the engineering design process: ask, imagine, plan, create, and improve. Throughout the summer camp, field trips and visitors help illustrate how given engineering problems are relevant to our local ecosystems, habitats, and everyday life through field trips and visits from local experts.

This program is so great and helpful in getting students interested in engineering and other math and science fields! They make it fun and engaging for kids who might not otherwise be interested in the subjects.
