Be a Cougar!
Early Notification letters have gone out and decisions have been posted on MyCharleston in CougarTrail. Were you accepted? If so, congratulations! Now, what’s next???
Have you logged onto our new portal, MyCharleston at http://my.cofc.edu? If not, now’s the time! This is your one-stop shop for all things College of Charleston. Here you can set up your new CofC e-mail account and pay your enrollment and housing deposit.
“Okay, so how do I get into MyCharleston???” Well, when you first applied, we sent you a customized e-mail that told you how to log into MyCharleston for the first time. If you lost that e-mail, or never got it, please e-mail mycharlestonapplicant@cofc.edu to request a new e-mail be sent to you. This is important: You cannot log in to MyCharleston for the first time without going through the customized link in this special email. So if you don’t have that original e-mail, write to mycharlestonapplicants@cofc.edu now so you can get yourself set up.
MAKING YOUR DEPOSIT
Once you’ve successfully activated your MyCharleston account and logged into my.cofc.edu (be sure to note down your CougarTrail ID number and new password that you set), you can then log into CougarTrail which is the big box on the left hand side of MyCharleston. In CougarTrail you’ll be able to see your admissions decision, and you’ll also find a link where you can make your deposit online. NOTE: We can’t take credit cards over the phone for admissions deposits. But you can send us a check in the mail.
YOUR NEW COFC E-MAIL ACCOUNT
In CougarTrail you can set up your new College e-mail account. This is important because we’ll be sending you information at this new address. Look for the link in CougarTrail to set up your account, then go to http://webmail.cofc.edu to check your inbox. Financial aid information will be sent to your new e-mail account soon, along with other important notices.
ORIENTATION!
After you make your enrollment deposit, you’ll be hearing from us about how to prepare for your arrival this fall. If you deposited early, you’ll have a bit of a wait… We’ll send out packets about summer orientation and how to sign up beginning in March. So sit tight. In the meantime, you can take a look at our orientation website.
HOUSING!
Housing assignments for freshman will be made in deposit date order, and spaces are only guaranteed to freshman who deposit by May 1. Transfers will receive assignments on a space-available basis after freshman who deposit by May 1have been placed. You’ll hear more about housing in the spring from our Office of Residence Life (after we receive your housing deposit of course).
ACCEPTED STUDENT WEEKEND!
If you got an acceptance packet, you received a special invite to our Accepted Student Weekend in March. Follow the directions on the invite to reserve your space. This is a great time to come make your final decision about attending the College of Charleston.
So, to sum it up. Get onto MyCharleston! If you know this is definitely where you want to be, make your deposit. Set up your CofC e-mail account. Sign up for Accepted Student Weekend in March. And hang tight for housing and orientation information. Check out our Accepted Student web page too. Congrats again!
I am glad to have been accepted, and look forward to connecting to class of 2014 classmates!
how do I connect to other class of 2014 members?
Hi David. You can find other members of the Class of 2014 Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/collegeofcharleston#/pages/Charleston-SC/College-of-Charleston-Class-of-2014/115778845726?ref=sgm
There are a couple of other groups on there created by students, just search College of Charleston class of 2014 and you’ll find them! This is a good place to ask questions, and look for roommates.
Also, make sure you sign up for Accepted Student Weekend in March.
