Refining Conceptual Framework and Dispositions

The Assessment Committee would like to offer you an opportunity to be a part of updating and refining our conceptual framework and operationalizing our dispositions for our assessment purposes (and for NCATE, of course).
During our faculty meeting of March 7, 2008, we began a discussion of our conceptual framework and received feedback from several faculty members.
Here’s how you can participate:
1. Suggest any needed changes/updates to the EHHP conceptual framework or dispositions.
2. Examine the dispositions and provide us some observable descriptions of each (see examples below).
3. Please send your responses to daviss@cofc.edu (or include a post right here!) no later than October 8.
Feedback from everyone will be collected, organized, and returned to you for examination and further input.
• Belief that all students can learn.
• Value and respect for individual differences.
• Value positive human interactions.
• Intellectual curiosity, enthusiasm about learning, and a willingness to learn new ideas.
o Eg.,The teacher uses constructive criticism for self-improvement.
• Commitment to inquiry, reflection, and self-assessment.
• Value collaborative and cooperative work.
o E.g.,The teacher provides opportunities for all students to engage in cooperative work.
• Sensitivity to community and cultural context.
• Responsible and ethical practice.
• Fairness and equitable opportunity for all learners.
