On Wednesday, October 18th Edie Cusack, Director of the REACH Program, represented the College of Charleston at TEDxCharleston 2017: Shake It Up in the Charleston Music Hall. While Lisa Christian and Nora Krasowski attended the event and cheered her on from the audience, others from Academic Experience watched via livestream in the New Student Programs lobby. Edie shared her inspiring message about the importance of including students with intellectual disabilities in higher education and ended her talk with these memorable words: “Exceptional treatment does not mean an exceptional life. It means an exception from life.“ If you are interested in watching her TEDx talk, you can find it here:  https://tedxcharleston.org/watch/#2017.
